Duo co-showrunners husband and wife Robert and Michelle King discussed that the sixth season of The Good Fight will be the last and why they believe the time is right to bring the series to an end.
The Good Fight, CBS All Access’s first original scripted series, is coming to an end with the final season of the series, which made its debut on Sept. 8, on Paramount+.
“We’ve loved fighting The Good Fight these last six seasons. To be able to tell stories about an upside-down world in real-time has been a gift. And to have worked with these talented, brilliant, generous actors, writers and crew has been a blessing. Our hope-slash-scheme is to find ways to work with all of them again in the future.” The married couple said this in a joint statement forcing the fans to say goodbye. The end of this series marks Baranski’s excellent 13-year portrayal of Diane, as she also starred in the CBS original, The Good Wife.
The Good Fight is about the life of Diane Lockhart, who rebuilt her life after being humiliated and scammed of her life savings. She secured a job in a law firm with her goddaughter Maia.
The show’s final season is sure to entangle viewers with the characters and the script as the show touches on sensitive topics mimicking lawyers that take on cases related to Roe v. Wade and voting rights while also dealing with the growing tension between the United States of America and Russia.
While viewers are torn up to hear that the series is ending, the Kings teased by dreaming up the possibility of another story that focuses on secondary characters saying, “Our hope-slash-scheme is to find ways to work with all of [the cast and crew] again in the future.”
