The Outlaws is a British comedy, crime thriller television show that is co-produced by the BBC and Amazon Studios, it is aired by Amazon Prime Video, BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The TV show, The Outlaws, is co-created by Stephen Merchant, who was also co-creator of The Office, and Elgin James, who co-created Mayans M.C.
What is the TV show, The Outlaws, about?
The Outlaws follows the lives of seven strangers from diverse backgrounds, who meet when they are sentenced to complete a stint of community service for their various crimes (known as community payback in the UK), the series is set in the city of Bristol, in the south west of the UK. These seven lawbreakers are ordered to work as a team in order to renovate a derelict local community center and during the renovation they come across a large bag of cash. As the story unfolds, these seven misfits begin to form friendships and learn more about themselves as they try to decide what to do with the bag of money, they also find they have become involved in a dangerous and sinister situation after they discover that they are not the only people with an interest in the cash.
When did the TV show, The Outlaws, premiere?
Production of the television show, The Outlaws, was in full swing in March 2020, however, it was delayed due to the Covid pandemic. Filming of this popular series was able to commence in February 2021 and seasons 1 and 2 were actually filmed back to back. Season 1 premiered in the UK on October 25, 2021, this first season consists of 6 episodes, each with a run time of around an hour. Season 2 was premiered on June 5, 2022, this season also consists of 6 episodes, also with a run time of about an hour. The international debut of the show, The Outlaws, was on April 1, 2022, it is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, streaming in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and some Nordic countries. The show, The Outlaws, was written by Stephen Merchant and Elgin James and it is a Big Talk and Four Eyes production. Other writers of the show, The Outlaws, are Emma Jane Unsworth, Nikita Lawani, John Butler, Nathaniel Price and Claire Downes. Executive Producers of the show are Stephen Merchant, Luke Alkin, Kenton Allen, Matthew Justice and Kate Daughton.
