<p>The news about Catherine Bell (as Cassie Nightingale) leaving the show was both startling and upsetting to those who have followed Cassie's adventure since the first film debuted in 2008. Catherine, on the other hand, has her head up high, she responded to the news on Instagram, saying she's "very thankful" for the privilege to portray Cassie for the last 13 years.</p>

<p>"She has inspired me to be a better person, to be kinder, gentler, more loving, and accepting. I know that many of you have felt the same," Catherine wrote in part. "I feel so fortunate. I know we will all miss the Good Witch and all the amazing characters [sic.] and stories. But I am definitely smiling because it happened."</p>

<p>Hallmark has not provided an adequate statement, but what is the most probable reason? Although nobody knows the full explanation, the following is our best guess - unfortunately, audience and rankings for the Hallmark program have continued to decline in recent years.</p>
