FOX has renewed the Emmy Award-winning dance competition series SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE for a 16th season. From Industrial Media's 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE will return this summer on FOX. "Each season, the talent on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE reaches new levels and continues to create the most incredible routines," said Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment and Specials, Fox Broadcasting Company. "The hard work and passion that goes into each performance is awe-inspiring. We can't wait to see what Season 16 has in store and look forward to bringing you a new crop of incredible, inspired and inspiring dancers." "I am thrilled that we have been picked up by FOX for Season 16 of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE," said executive producer Nigel Lythgoe. "This allows us to shine the spotlight once again on the incredible choreographic and dance talent across the United States as we search for America's favorite dancer.

In this new season of So You Think You Can Dance, during the audition phase, All-Star Comfort Fedoke, who's been grooving as an associate choreographer on the wickedly cool film Wicked and working the moves for Cabaret on London's West End, is stepping up to the judging panel. She'll be checking out dancers from all corners of the country, busting out their skills in everything from contemporary and tap to hip-hop and ballroom, all hoping to snag one of the ten golden spots on the show.

Season 18 is shaking things up with a fresh format that mirrors the real deal of building a dance career, just like many SYTYCD alums have done. Every week, contestants will dive into new, super-challenging dance gigs, from rocking a music video or a football halftime show to going head-to-head with a Broadway star. The judges hold the cards on who stays and who goes, with eliminations going down each week. The grand showdown happens in the finale, where the Top 3 duke it out for the $100,000 jackpot and the sweet title of So You Think You Can Dance champion.

This season is spicing things up with a peek behind the scenes. Alongside the epic dance numbers, viewers will get a reality TV-style look into the contestants' lives, tracking their ups and downs throughout the competition. It's not just about the dance floor drama; we're talking daily struggles, new friendships, clashes of personalities, and more.

All these new twists in the format celebrate the show's history of launching dancers into the limelight. Past contestants are strutting their stuff in musical troupes, gracing Broadway stages, and owning the dance scene on TV and beyond. Season 18 is no joke – it's throwing real-world challenges at the contestants, proving they're more ready than ever to kick off pro dance careers. Last year, Alexis Warr, the ballroom sensation from Orem, UT, waltzed away as the So You Think You Can Dance champ, bagging the cash prize and the coveted title of "America's Favorite Dancer" during the live two-hour season finale on FOX.
