About One Week To Sell TV Show

Unsold homes become red hot properties when New York-based interior designer and home stager Taylor Spellman steps on the scene in the new series One Week to Sell, streaming on discovery+ beginning Wednesday, Feb. 3. discovery+ is the definitive non-fiction, real life subscription streaming service and features a landmark partnership with Verizon that gives their customers with select plans up to 12 months of discovery+ on Verizon. In One Week to Sell, Taylor and her team, including Kate Dickens, her right-hand woman and friend for more than thirty years, create personalized design plans for lagging listings and make them market ready with high-end style on a small budget. In each episode, Taylor meets with the real estate agent to identify what turns off potential buyers and, in just a few short days, implements beautiful, practical and creative solutions that turn the house into a desirable dream home. "I got my start helping my real estate friends sell houses, so when a house won't sell, I get the call," said Taylor. "And I promise that my team and I can get it primed for sale in just one week." To start the season, Taylor takes on a home that's been sitting on the market for six months. Despite its desirable neighborhood, the property lacks curb appeal and has a dark kitchen and wood-paneled walls. On a tight $10,000 budget, Taylor brightens the main floor with fresh paint, incorporates custom furniture pieces to accentuate the home's large rooms and adds an island to create a family-friendly kitchen. As the season continues, she contends with awkward layouts, excessive wallpaper and outdated features to get more houses ready for sale in only one week. "Nobody can stretch a dollar further than me," added Taylor. "I've always had a total love and passion for interior design. I really take the time to think about who's going to buy the home and to identify what is wrong with the house and where it needs help."

β€œ0ne Week to Sell” is an insult to all legitimate licensed contractors. She used incorrect terms for construction, painted drawers without removing the hardware and covered things that should have been repaired. Why not try using a contractor that actually knows what they are doing. My husband has been a contractor for 30 years. Why not try reality tv and use someone like him.

Meg says

I totally agree! I'm not a contractor but I'm a rather proficient DIYer and I just started watching the first episode. I was literally shocked by the cabinet painting in the first 10 minutes. It was so sloppy! Who doesn't take off the hardware on the cabinets or the doors before painting?! Even if they didn't want to get a contractor for their painting and fix ups, they could at least take care with their work. I know they are on a time crunch and need to get lots of stuff in but if anyone took even a slightly closer look they would see all of the shoddy workmanship. Disappointing.

I love this show, it is all about quick staging to sell. It is not like the other shows and I just love her and the show!!! Hoping for Season 2!! πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

I love One week to Sell. Please renew it for another season. I have gotten so many good ideas for decorating my own oddball, outdated house. Now I love my home again.

Love this show. They are fun to watch and are full of energy. Can’t wait for the next season!

Melody says

I do love Taylor and Kate and their sense of humor! They all do a great job of sprucing up a place in five days. You can’t do everything picture perfect in that short of time, but they give it a good shot! And everything sells or the buyer decides to keep it so I’d say they are successful! I plan to keep tuning in!

Julie says

Left the show I hope they renewed for season 2. It's refreshing to see a show that doesn't cost $50,000 just to renew the look up your home. She does it mainly by her design ideas and shows you how to save money which we all need a little more of.
