Disney Junior’s “Miles from Tomorrowland” is an intergalactic adventure that charts the outer space missions of young adventurer Miles Callisto and his family – mom and ship captain, Phoebe; mechanical engineer dad, Leo; tech-savvy big sister, Loretta; and best friend robo-ostrich pet, Merc – as they help connect the galaxy on behalf of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Miles, Merc and the Callisto family explore wondrous and diverse new worlds, taking young viewers and their families on a futuristic journey designed to fuel kids’ natural interest in space, and at the same time reminding them of the importance of what lies close to home – the family bond. Each episode features two 11-minute, action-packed stories told from Miles’ perspective as he and his family live and work in outer space completing missions for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, including repairing broken spacecraft, mapping undiscovered areas of the solar system and developing space highways. Along the way, they model family teamwork, pro-active problem solving and acceptance of others as they encounter and embrace a wide array of alien species. Set against the backdrop of the vast galaxy, the Callistos depend on each other in everyday situations and keep family first. Miles is a young boy who brims with enthusiasm and curiosity about his new surroundings as he, along with best buddy, Merc, discovers the galaxies, meets new alien friends and relishes the latest space gadgets. Miles and Merc often find themselves in humorous situations as they embark on intergalactic endeavors on Miles’ Blastboard, his hovering skateboard, and face the occasional run-in with adversary Gadfly Garnett, an alien outlaw obsessed with owning the latest technology. Miles’ mom, Phoebe, otherwise known as Captain Callisto, is an ambitious and accomplished woman who excels in her career and challenges her family to do their best. As a pilot and the inventor of the family, Miles’ dad, Leo, demonstrates a relaxed attitude which leads him to problem-solve in innovative ways. Miles’ older sister, Loretta, a technology whiz, uses her vast knowledge and learnings to continually update her Bracelex, a bracelet that acts as an information superhighway. The Callistos embrace the challenges, adventures and fun that come along with living in space. The Callisto family has many innovative gadgets and futuristic vehicles which drive the storylines and create high-tech situations and problems for the family to work together to solve. The Stellosphere serves as the floating space station they call home, and on-board the entire family communicates via QuestCom, a small device worn on their wrists. Leo owns a Quantumatic, an all-encompassing tool he uses to fix anything that needs repairing, and the family can print whatever they dream up on the Solidizer, their 3-D printer. When it’s time to go on a family trip, the Callistos pile into their StarJetter family vehicle and head out to the other planets and galaxies surrounding them.
