Network: HGTV
Extreme Makeover: Home edition is one of the oldest running TV shows around, it is an American-based TV reality show that was first launched in December 2003. The first network to broadcast this show was ABC and it was their original series. It is one of those familiar series that everyone watched and still watch the previous episodes.
The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is a spin-off series from the nostalgic show called Extreme Makeovers, this show ran for ten seasons between 2003 and 2012 on ABC. Then in 2012, ABC finally decided to put this show to an end, but it kept on running the special episodes, so it actually re-ran multiple times after the announcement of the end of the show.
Now the fans are yet again excited as HGTV has officially confirmed that they would be reviving the famous show Extreme Makeovers: Home Edition on their streaming platform. The officials of HGTV said that the revival of this series is a piece of positive news for everyone, it could also change the lives of some people who will be a part of the show.
The show is about the renovation of different peoples' houses, giving them a different look, both from the inside and outside. First, the show team selects the houses for this show, and then the host and the group of designers and makeover experts go there to renovate them. The team is given the time of one week and the owners of the houses are asked to move away for the week for them, the show then films what goes into renovating the house and demonstrates how you can decorate your house too.
The makers of this new spin-off show for HGTV stated that the new series of extreme makeovers would be different in various ways from the ABC extreme makeovers, the new show is just not a reality show as it will aim to choose people who cannot afford to renovate their house. Also, unlike previous shows, it will renovate middle-sized houses, not mansions, and will not focus on creating unnecessary playrooms, etc.
The show was hosted by Ty Pennington earlier on ABC, but now on HGTV, Jesse Tyler Ferguson will be host. There are many members involved in the show who design, shop and do carpentry jobs for the renovation projects. Now on HGTV, you will see Sabrina and Jesse, heads of the designer team for the show, Breegan Jane is leading the carpentry with Darren Kaffe, and at the same time, Carrie Locklyn is given the job of styling and shopping for the things they need in decorating the house.
The hit reality show is again ready for a comeback and it will be live on HGTV. In January 2019, HGTV announced that they would be reviving the new spin-off series for the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and it will be live in February 2020. The new season is back, all the fans can watch it on the streaming platform of HGTV and enjoy it from February.
